HI MY NAME IS (record scratch) VALERIE MICHELLE. If your first thought was Eminem, you’re in the right place! Haha!
Allow me to introduce myself! My name is Valerie Michelle… (yes another music reference) and I would like to personally welcome you to my new blog! I’ve been wanting to start a blog forever but couldn’t quite bring myself to do it? Why, because of FEAR. Oh that four letter word! It’s amazing, and devastating honestly, how that little word has such a huge impact on our lives. Actually, I’m kind of downplaying it a little bit. It wreaks HAVOC on our lives. Trust me, I could talk about fear all day but I’m not going to give it that kind of shine on my first post. Besides, I don’t want to scare you away by going on a rant already (but trust, there will be rants!)
With that being said I’ve made the decision to…. uh…. show myself. To show the true me who likes good vibes and obscure music, healthy yummy cuisines, and content that helps people tap into their own power. I know you’re thinking, what’s wrong with that? Why would you hide from that person? Bruh! That’s the same question I’ve been asking myself for almost a decade! Since I was in High School I’ve had a love for all things media and the performing arts. I constantly struggled with being in front of the camera or behind the scenes. Both were uncomfortable to me quite frankly (but that’s another post). When I became a DJ it was the perfect introvert/extrovert combination. I can be out in the limelite entertaining and connecting with people but also be protected (better yet “hide”) behind the booth. And as I continued pursing this career as a DJ and media personality, I found myself HIDING behind DJ Fanci. I didn’t want anybody to know Valerie. DJ Fanci was the cool kid, the party girl, the chick on the scene hanging with the other media gurus and entertainers, rocking mohawks and blonde hair. But Valerie…. Oh Valerie. Valerie was the nerd, who would choose comfy over cute, who ate healthy because I actually love veggies, who enjoyed watching foreign films and independent webisode series before that was cool, who like to sit around with her girls and talk about Ted Talks and read self help books. That’s me! And actually… all of it is me. I am a cool kid, and I do love a good party but I have very diverse interests. So here I am at 30 years old combining the two worlds, and just being myself. Unapologetically me.
So I introduce to you Valerie Michelle.
Thank you for joining me on this journey. Let’s have some fun!
